EBGP - Rules and Regulations
 

EBGP welcomes students and dancers of all nationalities with age between 7 and 26 years.
EBGP is organized by the non-profit organisation "renaissDance", Rennweg 79-81, 1030 Vienna, Austria


• Online  Registration:
Participants have to register on ebgp-registration.com and pay via paypal.
The online registration will be closed at December 06, 2017 latest.  

EBGP reserves the right to decline registrations.

• Participants of EBGP are going to compete in 2 rounds:
First round and Final round

• Categories:
Participants/Teachers have the right to choose between the Professional or Non-Professional Category.

Professional
Classical Solo, Modern / Contemporary Solo, Classical Pas de Deux, Classical Duo, Modern / Contemporary Duo
Small Group and Big Group in Ballet and/or Modern / Contemporary Dance

Non-Professional
Classical Solo, Modern / Contemporary Solo, Classical Pas de Deux, Classical Duo, Modern / Contemporary Duo
Small Group and Big Group in Ballet and/or Modern / Contemporary Dance

Age Category and Age Restriction Explanation:
Important for finding out the correct age category is the participant's age at the first day of competition, February 6th 2018
    °Minis: 7-9 years old (born between Feb 7th 2008 and Feb 6th 2011)
    °Kids: 10-12 years old (born between Feb 7th 2005 and Feb 6th 2008)
    °Teens: 13-15 years old (born between Feb 7th 2002 and Feb 6th 2005)  
    °Juniors: 16-18 years old (born between Feb 7th 1999 and Feb 6th 2002)
    °Seniors: 19-26 years old (born between Feb 7th 1991 and Feb 6th 1999)               

All participants of age group „Minis“ are allowed to participate in the “Non-Professional Category” only.
The correct age group for Classical Duo, Modern / Contemporary Duo, Small group and Big group is defined by the age of the eldest participant of the group.
EBGP  is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate information submitted in the online registration form.

• Repertory Choice:
The choice of classical and contemporary dance repertoire is a free choice for every participant or his/her teacher.
We highly recommend to choose age appropriate choreography.
Participants/their teachers are responsible for all of their choreography and music copyrights.
* Neo-classical works strictly belong to the Classical category.
* Classical Pas de deux have to include Adagio, Variations and Coda.

Participants may show a maximum of three pieces in each category. 

• Props:
No props are allowed.

• Lighting
All the competitors are going to use the same light setting during the whole competition. 

• Stage rehearsals
The competitors are going to have stage reahearsal 15 min. before the category they are performing in. 

• Time Limits:
Classical Variations, Neo-classical works and Contemporary Dance Solos: max. 2:30 min.
Classical Pas de deux: (Adagio, Male Variation, Female Variation, Coda) in original length
Classical Duo, Contemporary Dance Duo: max. 3:00 min.
Small Group: Maximum 3:30 min.
Big Group: Maximum 4:30 min.

• Fees:
The registration fee: €  90.- for each participant

Competition fee for both Professional and Non-Professional categories:                            
                           ° Solo: € 100.-

                           ° Classical Pas de deux: € 150.- per dancer

                           ° Classical, Modern / Contemporary Dance Duo: € 100.- per dancer

                           ° Small Group, 3-5 dancers: € 75.- per dancer

                           ° Big Group, 6 + dancers: € 50.- per dancer

Participation fee for the Workshops: € 30.- per unit (90 Min.)
It is the participant’s responsibility to transfer the correct amount according to this list.
Registrations will be approved by EBGP after the whole payment has been received only!
Competitors are allowed to watch the whole competition with no extra charge by showing their participant's ID-card.
Audience day passes and backstage passes are not valid to watch the "Charity Awards Gala". Tickets for this Gala must be bought separately.

Competition Entrance: (for watching the competition during the whole day, able to go in and out anytime, not valid for Charity Awards Gala)
                               Entrance for all participants is free of charge
                               Children: 4-10 yrs free of charge
                               Juniors: 11-15 yrs €10.- per day
                               Seniors: 16 and older €25.- per day or €55.- for three days 

                                
• Payment conditions:
Signed - in dancers and dances will be confirmed by EBGP after full amount of payment has arrived on the EBGP paypal account.
The payment will be done as the last step at the registration: ebgp-registration.com

• Refunds:
Refunds are issued in case of illness or injury confirmed by a doctor's certificate only, before the competition begins. In this case 30% of total paid fees will be refunded.

• Scoring System:
The scoring system is based on a 100-points system and includes points for artistry, technical skills and potential of each participant.
The total score for the participant is the average of all the judges´ scores.
In category Classical Pas de deux, dancers will be judged as a couple.
The jury vote takes place simultaneously and is not negotiable.
The results will be made official at the end of each category. The names of the finalists will be announced at the of the first round on the our homepage www.ebgp.at on facebook.

The number of finalists is limited. The jury will decide the exact amount of finalists and the name list of them will be published at the end of the 1st round on our website www.ebgp.at and on facebook.

• Behaviour
During competition teachers / coaches are not allowed to give instructions or signs to their students/participants from the edge of the stage.

• Time management
Teachers / Coaches are responsible that participants are ready for stage 45 minutes in advance.

• Eligibility for Selection to the EBGP Finals:
In order to qualify for the Final round, participants need minimum 85 points.The number of finalists is limited. The jury will decide the exact amount of finalists and the name list of them will be published at the end of the 1st round on our website www.ebgp.at and on facebook.

• Music:
Participants / their teachers are responsible for all the music copyrights of the dance pieces they perform.
All music has to be submitted by email in an MP3 format to music@ebgp.at (one piece of music per email).
Every email has to contain the following information:
Name of Participant, ID Nr, Title of Piece, Professional or Non-Professional Category, Age Group, Classical or Contemporary Dance, Running Time and "Music first" or "Pose first".
A backup CD must be kept available by each participant and/or their representative at all times.
Participants have to notify the sound technician or EBGP backstage manager of any irregularities in the music (pauses, sudden volume changes, etc.) in advance.

• Workshops:
The schedule of the workshops is published on the EBGP homepage (see "Workshops/Schedule").
Inscription for the workshops is highly suggested, as this gives participants an important opportunity to present themselves to the judges.
Registration and payment for all the workshops has to be done in advance together with the registration for the competition.

The check-in for competition and workshops (Rennweg 79-81, 1030 Vienna) will be opened on the 6th of February 7:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. 
EBGP does not overtake any responsibility for the loss of valuables and personal belongings!
No food and soft drinks are allowed in the studios, smoking and alcohol is prohibited in the whole building.

The EBGP Charity Awards Gala:
The jury will choose the finalists, who will perform at the EBGP Charity Awards Gala.

• Media clause:
EBGP reserves the right for promotional purposes to use any photo or video recording of participants’ performances during the Competition, Master Classes as well as Charity Awards Gala for unlimited time.
EBGP reserves the right to transfer the usage of rights to third parties in part or in whole.

• Insurance:
Participants care for their health insurance by themselves, EBGP does not overtake any responsibility.
You participate on your own risk and will not make any claim against EBGP, Renaissdance or dancearts.
Adults (parents or teachers) have to overtake responsibility for the behaviour or damage of minor dancers at any time.

Backstage Passes:
All the participants are allowed to enter the "Back Stage Area" and to the "Dressing Room Area" by showing their Back Stage Passes.
Please notice, that the Back Stage Pass is issued and valid for this specific person only, who is inscribed being the participant at the registration form. All Passes will be handed out in the welcome bag at the Workshop check - in February 6th as well as on the first day of competition (desk at MuTh, entrance hall) for those, who do not intend to attend a workshop.

Backstage Passes: (to accompany participants, additionally to the one day or three days pass)
                            1-10 participants of one school - 1 Pass for free
                            11-20 participants of one school - 2 Passes for free
                            21-30 participants of one school - 3 Passes for free

Backstage passes allow the teacher, parent or a person accompanying participant to access the beackstage area and changing room, starting 90 minutes before the start of participant´s category competition time and ending 30 minutes after.
Passes can be picked up at workshops check-in (welcome-bag, dancearts, February 6th) or on the first day of the competition at the Muth Theater, entrance hall, February 7th)
